EVACUEES VISIT THE HERITAGE CENTRE

Pupils and teachers of Norbriggs School (Mastin Moor) enjoyed a morning of wartime activities.
Arriving by public transport, the teachers arriving in  their 1940's attire and pupils dressed as evacuees they really looked the part for their Wartime  project visit.
The children watched DVD's of 'Sheffield Blitz' and 'Wartime Memories' of Lowestoft Evacuees. Many of them excitedly tried on a gas mask and held a WWI Rifle with the help of Tony Bak to supervise. Viewing photographs and information of local men and women in their military uniforms, lost soldiers of Barlborough Parish, air raid shelters, local bombings, ration books and much more...
