With funding from the Heritage Lottery we have been able to produce a BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE for all the men that gave their lives. This book is being displayed at the Heritage Centre - below is an actual page telling us a story of a young Barlborough man who gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

We have produced a book for sale that tells the stories of many servicemen during this conflict, including extracts from personal diaries , messages from POW Camps, letters to loved ones , contemporary newspaper articles and many photographs and images . This book is divided into three sections , Stories , Servicemen Who Came Home and Men Who Gave Their Lives .
This is in a limited edition of 200 available for purchase at the Heritage Centre .

Our Barlborough Heroes Project also entailed the production of a DVD.
The DVD shows scenes of the war period around the Parish showing where the men lived and worked prior to enlistment .
There are many photographs of servicemen in uniform along with military awards that they gained for their bravery .
There are many scenes around the village , spectacular views from the top of the church tower and also a journey around the original Parish Boundary .
Women also played a part in the war effort which is also portrayed in the DVD .
